Meet Our Horses

Available for Adoption:

Geldings

 Totem // 15.1 hh // 5 years old // Pinto Arabian
Very sweet guy and special coloring in this gentle, smooth gaited and long legged gelding. He has started on riding, knows ground games and has excellent manners. He is a gorgeous mover, even with one very slight club foot, his movement is not hindered at all. Totem is still timid and takes time to build trust. He needs a little more confidence to be considered kid-safe.

Legolas // 15hh // 4 years old // Warmblood Hanoverian Cross

Legolas was born on the farm and he has been with us since day one. He is started under saddle (Currently in training – available late 2021), a smart jester who is brave and not bothered by things that would scare any other horse. This is a solid, sturdy, great-minded horse who would make a great addition to go in any direction!

Archer (“Archie”) // 14.2 hh // Approximately 14 years old Paint. Archie’s DNA test shows his ancestry to be Turkoman, Trakehner and Saddlebred – making a fun, lively and gorgeous combination. He is looking for a rider with some assertiveness and one who wants lots of energy under the saddle.

Finch is a gentlemen all the way! He has extensive knowledge. He needs a loving home (great for kids!) and someone who will adore him for everything he has done for people. Kids trail horse here!

Dakota

Tall, elegant gelding Bay Hanoverian/Criolle. He rode well at the lot, and is becoming less standoffish with us. No bad behaviors, just decompressing, then we think he’ll be ready and willing to go.

Sol // age 6 years / Dutch Harness

Sol is currently in training.

Mares

Miss Me // 13.3hh // age 8 years // Arabian/Turkman/Paso Fino

Arabian/Turkman/Paso Fino cross mare who can go for days!  This gorgeous, chestnut mare is only 8 years old and has a great start (W/T/C) under saddle and come a long way.  She REQUIRES an advanced rider who can keep her mind engaged and work with her often.  Miss Me gets distracted and finds it very difficult to refocus so she needs someone who can help her work on focus and confidence.  Miss Me is a beautiful mover and knows all the ground games.  She would be a great project for an eventer or endurance rider!  Message Journey Home Equine Rescue for more information and to meet this little beauty!

Penelope // 14.2 hh // Approximately 6 years old // Palomino mare; Quarter horse x Mountain Pleasure. She is sweet, loving and ready to go! Clearly has had a lot of work put into her. Also, quite a stunning looking pony. Just right for a smaller rider.

Daisy // Pretty mare who arrived in good condition. She has good flesh to her and appears to have been well taken care of. She does appear to be broke to ride and has a decent handle to her and very friendly to people. She could use someone to give her a good routine and should have a really nice horse on their hands! She seems quite athletic and handy.
